The Graphic Designer’s purview will include but not be limited to corporate identity work, including logo development, signage, brochures, and package design. As part of the team of client representatives, the Graphic Designer will be required to understand the target audience in the attempt to create design materials suitable and appropriate for the client’s purpose. As a member of the marketing team, the Graphic Designer will develop the overall layout and production design of magazines, newspapers, journals, corporate reports, and other publications. This may also include working with web designers on the development of materials for Internet Web pages, interactive media, and multimedia projects.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

• Determine the needs of the client, the message the design should portray, and its appeal to customers or users while considering cognitive, cultural, physical, and social factors in planning and executing designs for the target audience
• Develop a clear understanding of client’s  brand standard of communication, audience and changes 
• Plan, analyze, and create visual solutions to communications problems by finding the most effective way to get messages across in print and electronic media using color, type, illustration, photography, animation, and various print and layout techniques.
• Brainstorm and effectively communicate/present design ideas to clients in a concise fashion, listening attentively to client’s concerns and adjusting designs to fit their needs or taste
• Projecting budgets and schedules for design production
• Using computer software to execute designs
• Working with others, such as printers, programmers, developers or other technicians, to complete the final product
