Job Description:
- Job Purpose: To ensure smooth operations of all computer systems in the stores and back office
Duties: · Diagnosis and repair of any computer systems in St. Thomas region. · To insure as close to 100% uptime as possible for all VPN and Internet connections as well as phone lines. · In case of service outages with Internet service or phone lines works with the local providers to report issues and ensure problem resolution in timely fashion. · Recommend and procure new POS equipment as needed for upgrades and repairs as well as new store expansion in the St. Thomas region. · Perform software upgrades of POS system as they become available. · Coordinate with NY Corporate office for any e-mail related issues such as new account creation, account changes, problems with accounts, password resets. · Ability to network machines in multiple locations to central network connection areas both wired and wirelessly. · Research emerging technologies to help local infrastructure and recommend changes or acquit ions to executive office / IT department in NY. · Work with NY office to assist them with software troubleshooting and testing. Testing not only includes POS software but new ideas as far as machine setups etc. · Monitor security cameras and DVRs, and report problems as required to local alarm company to have equipment repairs done as required. · Viewing of security camera footage as required (employee incidents, loss of merchandise, customer disputes) and backing up said footage for archival purposes for the company. · Working with store managers / executive office / HR department in case of a missing piece to determine what happened and reporting to executive directors what occurred. · Work with HR department with regards to emergency coordination with regards to the established BPP policy requirements for company evacuation plans / disaster preparedness. · Support of all software packages in the executive office / corporate office as well as recommending new packages for the offices to support ongoing operations. · Monitoring helpdesk system to respond to store requests on ongoing basis to ensure that support is given in timely fashion. · Configuration and maintenance on printers, fax machines, and copiers including consumable replacement and basic repairs. · Working with maintenance department in case of new store construction or renovations to existing stores This includes coordinating with construction company, interconnect company, local service providers, alarm company, and electrician to ensure that infrastructure for the store is completed and in place before store is ready to open/reopen. · Support of cellular phones, which would include configuring phones for corporate email accounts, troubleshoot of loss/degradation of service coverage. Working with service provider in case of service issues to determine and resolve said problems. · Working with various test equipment and tools to diagnose and repair wiring infrastructure. This includes network connections, phone connections and working with outside vendors to resolve said issues if they are beyond the scope of being able to resolve internally. · Procure and install equipment during new store construction or renovations including networking equipment, phone blocks, and network/phone jacks. · Works with credit card clearing center to order new account numbers and equipment as needed. · Assists controller with time clock operation and interconnectivity to ensure that employee punches are accounted for. · Assists controller with setting up new/existing employees in the timeclock software as well as changes to an employee’s profile. · Ensures that file server is backed up on regular basis to prevent loss of information. · Assists new employees in corporate office in setting up voice mailbox, copier codes. · Additional duties may be assigned as required |
