Job Description:
Education and Disabilities Manager
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Evaluates and supervises all center-based and home based teaching staff. Monitors staff education requirements and individual professional development. Ensures and coordinates the implementation and use of the High Scope curriculum. Makes regular classroom and home visiting observations and completes performance evaluations. Reviews lesson plans. Ensures curriculum supports school readiness as outlined in Head Start Performance Standards. Assists in recruiting and orienting of teaching staff and volunteers. Provides training and guidance to staff, parents and community on a variety of topics in the area of disabilities and mental health. Ensuring that IFSP’s are obtained and updated. Maintains record keeping and reporting systems.
Skills Required
Requirements:
·Master degree preferred, Bachelor’s degree required in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field with sufficient credits in education or child development.
·Two years of management or supervisory experience.
·Experience working with infants and toddler required.
·Valid VI Driver’s License.
