Job Description:

Gifft Hill School in beautiful St. John, USVI is looking for an outstanding Technology Specialist who can who can live our mission and vision by designing and implementing innovative new distance and virtual learning programs to enhance our dynamic, rigorous academic program, and meet the needs of students with a variety of learning styles and readiness levels, within a school culture that fosters a love of learning, mutual respect, and the importance of personal responsibility. The successful candidate will have experience working with Tandberg video conferencing systems (or similar) and a variety of online learning programs within a secondary school setting. He/she will be responsible for the design of a new virtual foreign language program model, and will work in conjunction with the School Principal to establish relationships with partner schools who are interested in combining resources to expand course offerings at the high school level through distance learning opportunities. Additional responsibilities will include the coaching/mentoring of colleagues with the purpose of establishing a Virtual Learning Vanguard Team to explore additional ways to make use of the school’s technology resources to positively impact student achievement. Individuals who seek to build a school community rich in rigorous academics and daily experiences of discovery, and who can model adaptability and teamwork for their students will be a wonderful match to this position.
