Job Description:
This candidate is responsible for specific administrative and clinical duties of the Chronic and Acute Hemodialysis Unit on a 24 hour basis.
Inspects area daily for compliance with policies and procedures, regulations, and standards and takes corrective action when a violation is noted.
Ensures compliance with patient care assessment, documentation, patient teaching/education, and integrity of the medical record.
Ensures ongoing Performance Improvement activities within the unit.
Assists with the implementation of corrective action when determined necessary.
Monitors and evaluates the quality/appropriateness of patient care based on Joint Commission, ANA Standards and other licensing agencies;
Reports to the Vice President for Clinical Strategic Initiatives.
Maintains a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patient/families in accordance with Hospital Standards;
Oversees the delivery of patient care, directs and delegates patient care assignments to nursing staff, based on acuteness of patient care needs and staff availability;
Enhances professional growth and development, through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings and workshops.
Performs other related duties as assigned
Skills Required
Associate Degree in Nursing (BSN or attending college preferred).
Minimum of five years recent clinical experience in the Hemodialysis Unit with demonstrated leadership skills.
