Maintains compliance with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies and with applicable hospital and medical staff policies; Maintains on-going liaison among the medical and nursing personnel, other professional, administration and governing body through meetings and periodic reports; Formulates coordinates and implements the policies and procedures of the ESRD unit and coordinates the provision of services, in accordance with delegations by the Executive Management Staff and the Hospital governing body; Organizes and coordinates the administrative function of the ESRD unit under the direct supervision of the Vice President of Hemodialysis in collaboration with the Chief Nursing Officer to ensure clinical functions are carried out; evaluates the need for expenditures in accordance with established policies and procedures; Familiarizes the staff with the ESRD unit policies, rules and regulations, and with applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations; Maintains and submits such reports and records, including a chronological record of social services provided to patients and transplant efforts, as may be required by the ESRD unit; Participates in the development, negotiation, implementation of agreements or contracts;Holds contractor accountable for fulfilling deliverables as indicated in the written agreement; In collaboration with the Human Resources Department, the Chief Nursing Officer and the Vice President with Oversight of Hemodialysis, ensures that there is an adequate number of qualified staff and that all staff receives the appropriate orientation to the ESRD unit and to their work responsibilities; Ensures adequate staff education, training and evaluation; Interact with Public Relations to relate accurate information to community agencies and/or organizations to assure optimal coordination and use of the resources in the community; Manages the Social Worker(s) maintains constant stream of communication with the Vice President of Clinical Strategic Initiative; Performs other related duties as assigned.
Skills Required
Holds at least a baccalaureate degree or its equivalent and has at 1 year of experience in an ESRD unit at a supervisory or management level; Has demonstrated capability by acting for at least 2 years as an Administrator of an ESRD unit; Is a registered nurse Registered nurse (RN) with current valid USVI licensure or physician director and at least 12 months experience in ESRD.
