Job Description:

Newly formed Consulting Company, Cane Bay Partners VI, LLC located in Christiansted, VI is currently seeking a full-time Bookkeeper/Accounting Clerk/Admin.

The Accounting/Bookkeeper Clerk/Admin I is responsible for the company’s' general day-to-day bookkeeping duties. Computes, classifies, and record numerical data to keep financial records complete.

Performs any combination of routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data for use in maintaining company’s accounting records.  May also check the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to business transactions. Provides light administrative/HR duties for Executive Management.

Essential Functions: ·         Performs routine accounting activities such as maintenance of payables and receivables. ·         Performs general office duties such as filing, answering telephones, and handling routine correspondence. Some administrative and HR EDC compliance duties for Executive Mgmt as required. ·         Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper coding. ·         Access computerized financial information to answer general questions as well as those related to specific accounts. ·         Comply with federal, company policies, procedures, and regulations. Responsible for EDC compliance and reporting as required. ·         Compile financial, accounting or auditing reports and tables pertaining to such matters as cash receipts, expenditures, accounts payable and receivable, and profits and losses. Code accounting documents according to company procedures. ·         Calculate, prepare, and issue bills, invoices, account statements, and other financial statements according to established procedures. ·         Prepare purchase orders and expense reports.

·         Problem Sensitivity - The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It may not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.

·         Deductive Reasoning - The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.

·         Information Ordering - The ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules (e.g., patterns of numbers, letters, words, mathematical operations).

Oral Comprehension - The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.  Experience and Education:  
  • Some College Courses; Over 2 years, up to and including 4 years
    1-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area
    Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the accounting/bookkeeping field
  • EDC Compliance knowledge and solid experience a plus!
 Computer Software/Hardware: 
  • QuickBooks Accounting Software
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Outlook Exchange
  Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
  • Must be able to sand and sit for long periods of time, talking, hearing constantly.
    Must be able to sit in front of computer monitor (s) daily.
    Noise Level: moderate noise level daily in office atmosphere.
