Job Description:
Responsible for Health Center's information systems including Electronic Health Record system (NextGen), QSI - Electronic Dental Record, Electronic X-ray software; VoIP Phone systems; UDS (Uniform Data System) Reporting; prepare, maintain, and enforce departmental policies and procedures; data collection services, and networking corporate-wide communication and computer systems; trouble shooting; training of personnel on all computer and communication systems as applicable, and other related tasks as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensures the maintenance of all computer systems within the corporation including all network computers and devices as well as all non-network computers and devices; installation and periodic update of all mission-critical applications in use by the health center.
Prepare, maintain, and enforce departmental policies and procedures regarding network and information system management, documentation and usage.
Maintain daily backups of all mission-critical applications and data.
Function as liaison between the IT Department and other departments to resolve complex and/or sensitive interface problems.
Analyze departmental needs in relation to information systems retrieval, control of centralized databases and expanded use of computing and data processing.
Directs the preparation and installation of information processing procedures and systems, including the design of source documents, technical direction of data processing operations and assistance in the format of management reports.
Review department's performance and effect changes as needed to improve services, simplify workflow, enforce timeliness of reporting and assure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Establish and direct departmental quality management activities.
Assist Departmental and Division Directors/Supervisors as they prepare and conduct fair and objective performance appraisals of their employee's regarding IT functions.
Attend senior management and administrative meetings as appropriate and contribute ideas for improving efficiency, productivity and patient satisfaction.
Conduct IT staff meetings and maintain minutes of all meetings.
Ensure adequate IT in-service education is available to staff.
Ensure all staff is appropriately trained to use computer and communication systems.
Interact with companies and manufacturers to ensure adequate and appropriate software, applications, equipment, upgrades and repairs.
Maintain current knowledge regarding the latest developments in technology; recommend changes in systems in an effort to meet changing needs and requirements.
Prioritize and schedule workload in a way that promotes effective and efficient use of Corporate resources. Participate in performance improvement efforts.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.
