KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITIES · Knowledge of local policies and procedures regarding the administration of security/school safety programs; · Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations; · Knowledge of the current literature, trends, methods, and developments in the areas of security and school safety; · Ability to evaluate the effectiveness of programs and make recommendations for improvements; · Ability to compare and/or judge the readily observable, functional, structural or composite characteristics (whether similar or divergent from obvious standards) of data, people or things; · Ability to speak to people with poise, voice control and confidence; · Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; · Ability to maintain complete and accurate records and develop meaningful complex reports; · Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; · Ability to assign and supervise the work of internal and external personnel: · Ability to supervise, train and evaluate assigned staff; · Ability to make sound and independent judgment while performing various tasks and assignments; EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE · BA in a related field and at least eight (8) years of law enforcement or related experience, including at least three (3) years of progressive management experience, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required the knowledge, skills and abilities. · Must possess a valid United States Virgin Islands driver’s license. |
