Job Description:
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: · Leads, directs and oversees all Authority engineering and construction activities. · Manages and oversees all outside engineering and construction contracts. · Establishes engineering standards, specifications, policies and objectives for the Authority. · Review plans and specification prior to the start of construction to ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements, industry best practices and internal design standards. · Manages subordinates staff and establishes measurable objectives and goal. · Ensures that all engineering and construction activities, including the work of contractors, are conducted in a safe and environmentally sound manner .· Ensures that Division staff receives proper training and that a career development strategy is implemented to prepare future leaders. · Evaluates proposed capital investments and, with the Chief of Operations and the Executive Director, establishes funding priorities. Develops and administers the ten-year capital investment plan for the Authority .· Participates in the investigation of all construction accidents that involve Authority employees or contractor staff. Ensures corrective action is taken. · Performs other duties as required. |
