Hiring for LPG Power Station Operations  

Terminal Engineers & LPG Terminal Operators

United States Virgin Islands - St.Thomas and St.Croix

 

Burdock USA is supporting the hiring for the newly converted LPG power station on the US Virgin Islands

 ( USVI ) in the Caribbean covering the sites on the islands of  St . Croix and St . Thomas. We are looking to hire for the following positions.

 

Terminal Engineers Supervisory

 

These will be hands on roles for primary engineering support for a fully automated LPG terminal providing a continuous gas feed for a utility customer.  The Terminal Engineers serve as the key technical resource for the Terminal operation focusing on preventative / corrective maintenance, troubleshooting and problem resolution for electronic / mechanical equipment issues.  The roles will maintain 24/7 LPG Terminal operations. The position will have supervisory responsibilities and will act as staff reporting line to the Terminal Manager.   Duties will cover such aspects as:-

 

  • Create (long-term) annual plans for technical maintenance , repairs and modifications to buildings , installations and equipment. Troubleshoot , repair , maintain and calibrate equipment such as: pumps and motors , compressors , steam boilers , propane vaporizers , gas flare unit, mainline and manifold control valves , coriolis meters , gas detection equipment , fire-fighting systems , tank gauging equipment , pressure and temperature gauges and DCS equipment.

  • Maintain, and repair electrical equipment.

  • Conduct routine quality inspections of terminal equipment.

  • Ensure the execution of preventative and corrective maintenance , repairs and modifications.

  • Provide technical support to operations staff to assist in the daily Terminal operations. 

  • Will Supervise daily operations under the direction of the Terminal Manager.

  • Initiate Emergency Response actions and assume responsibilities according to Terminal SOP.

     

    Qualifications & Experience

     

    Minimum:           High School Graduate / Equivalent

    Preferred:           Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

    3-5 years’ experience in a maintenance or E&I technician role within an LPG ,  LNG , Chemical Plant , Refinery

     

LPG Terminal Operators

 

The Terminal Operators tasks will consist of daily LPG terminal operations under the direction of the Terminal Manager.  These are full time positions that require frequent overtime.  Terminal operators are required to work 8hr rotating shifts.  Duties will cover such aspects as:-

 

  • Operate and monitor Terminal’s DCS system for a fully automated LPG facility.

  • Execute cargo transfers according to: loading / discharge plans or intra-terminal transfer plans, Operations and HSE SOP.

  • Execute Terminal daily stock reconciliation , custody transfer reconciliation , and month end inventories.

  • Conduct routine facility safety and security inspections per Terminal SOP.

  • Facility Security duties according to FSP requirements.

  • Operation of Propane vaporizer equipment. Monitor gas feed to utility customer ensuring correct delivery temperature and pressure to gas turbines.  Correct and adjust delivery temperature and pressure as required by customer.

  • Operation of boilers and / or external steam feed to ensure continuous steam supply for vaporization process.

  • Conducts routine pump, compressor , pipeline , flare , safety equipment checks.

  • Make minor repairs , adjustment , and calibration to Terminal equipment.  Assist Maintenance Engineers when required.

  • Routine inspections and testing of terminal fire-fighting pumps and detection equipment.

  • Manage Permit to Work requirements for Contractor activities at the facility according to HSE SOP.

 

Qualifications & Experience

 

Minimum:           High School Graduate  /  Equivalent

Preferred:           Associates Degree in Process Technology

3-5 years’ experience in operations / maintenance within an LPG , LNG , Chemical  Plant , Refinery .

 

Location , work visas & permit requirement s

 

All candidates must hold a valid TWIC card and valid driving license and will clearly have a strong commitment to HSE.

 

We are hiring for a number of positions that will be based on either of the island of St.Thomas or St.Croix.

Applications are open to all individuals that have the required experience and the legal right to work in the USA and its territories.  No visa sponsorship is on offer for these positions.  No interstate or overseas relocation allowances are on offer for these positions for the successful candidates.

 

All interviews will be held and conducted locally on island.  Applicants from out of the territories will need to be aware that they will be required to make their own arrangements to attend any local interviews.  

 

Salary & Compensation

 

These are all full time, permanent staff positions and starting salaries / pay will reflect experience and be in line with company pay levels.  Salary packages will include generous benefits plus paid over time.
