Job Description:

Job Title:  Greeter (Bilingual)
FLSA Status:  Non-Exempt
Reports to:  Greeter Supervisor
 

Job Summary:  Greeters are responsible for acquainting visitors and groups with the exhibits and special attractions of Coral World, representing the company’s image by being helpful, friendly and knowledgeable.  These positions may be full or part – time with various hours to cover a seven-day a week operation.

 Duties and Responsibilities: (Including but not limited to)

           ·        Answer questions from the visitors courteously, giving factual information as accurately as possible.
          
·        Assist visitors in wheelchairs by noting ramps & operating the wheelchair lift.
          
·        Assist with clerical duties such as photocopying of maps
          
·        Conduct orientation session with groups at a central location within the premises of Coral World
          
·        Encourage visitors to stroll leisurely through the Caribbean Reef Encounter, Marine Gardens, Observatory
                 and the various pools explaining the various attractions of each.
          
·        Encourage visitors to try Sea Trekkin’ & other Coral World sanctioned activities.
          
·        Greet visitors and groups at the front entrance area welcoming them to Coral World.
          
·        Guide tourists around the park as needed
          
·        Invite visitors to visit our Café, Shark Bar, & gift shops for their purchases
          
·        Responsible for logging items lost & found
          
·        Responsible for making sure that all visitors have left the park before locking the front gates.
          
·        Secure and maintain an accurate count of tour groups.
          
·        With instruction from the Curator, assist with educational programs, exhibit presentations, daily exhibit talks,
                 which may include handling of certain marine animals at the Touch Pool and school field trips.


Skills Required

General Skills/Knowledge/Work Experience/ Education/Certification/License:

              Required:

·        Speak and write English clearly and articulately

·        Must be able to speak Spanish clearly and articulately

·        Outgoing & friendly personality

·        Must be service oriented

·        Must be able to handle difficult, high volume situations while maintaining composure

·        Must be pleasant, helpful, courteous, responsible & enthusiastic.

·        Must be able to work weekends

Preferred:

·        Prior customer service/hospitality experience

·       High School Diploma or GED

 

 Special Requirements:
         
v     Must be a team player and be able to get along with others
         
v     Must be personable, courteous and able to work under pressure
         
v     Must be willing to work overtime, holidays, and weekends when scheduled
