Job Title: Clinical Social Worker (Government Contractor) Work Schedule: Full-Time Location: Kingshill, St. Croix (US Virgin Islands Army National Guard) Start Date: Immediate Opening/Hire Who May Apply: All U.S. CitizensKey Requirement: Must possess a security clearance; OR be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance. The incumbent of this position will provide support to the Deputy State Surgeon, US Virgin Islands Army National Guard . As Clinical Social Worker, the incumbent will perform the following tasks: - Serves as subject matter expert to the Virgin Island National Guard on matters related to behavioral health, provides advice to the State Surgeon on psychological/behavioral health initiatives and issues, as required.
- Assist the State Surgeon with assessment and tracking of joint force behavioral health needs.
- Reviews behavioral health documentation, evaluates and monitors the behavioral health status of service members. Assures accurate profiles are in place for service members with behavioral health difficulties.
- Provide counseling and treatment for individuals, couples, families and groups in multiple areas of mental health including, but not limited to: trauma, PTSD, sexual assault, victimization, substance abuse, domestic violence, behavior modification, and crisis intervention.
- Collaborate and communicate with team members to provide holistic integrated treatment.
- Provide on-going assessment, treatment planning, and goal setting, including annual reviews.
- Provide information, screening, and referral services and collaborate with social service agencies to integrate resources to provide education to those receiving treatment.
- Provide individuals and families with stress management, coping skills, parenting skills.
- Provide case management services for all cases referred and maintain strict confidentiality.
- Gather data, determine clients’ readiness for treatment and change, and apply accepted criteria for diagnosis of behavioral health problems, including substance abuse disorders.
- Participate in required staff meetings and travel throughout the territory to offer clinical hours as based on need. Travel expense will be approved pending funding availability.
Other: Preference: Preference will be given to candidates who meet the following qualifications: - Active or former member of the United States military. - Individuals credentialed by the National Guard Bureau to provide clinical services. - Resident of the Virgin Islands.
