Virgin Islands Public Broadcasting System Technical Assistant I Job Posting The Virgin Islands Public Broadcasting System announces the opening of a Technical Assistant I position on the island of St. Croix. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: · Search and retrieval of tapes to be used as B-roll or footage for documentaries; · Dub footage; · Setup and operation of production equipment; · Record, tag and complete inventory of tapes and promo reels; · Resolve problems relative to exposure control, subject and camera movement, changes in subject distance during recording and related variables; and · Operate cameras, microphones, lights and accessories during and in preparation for remote and studio broadcasts. QUALIFICATIONS: - Ability to operate cameras;
- Ability to work well in a team environment and adapt to changing situations;
- Ability to load and off load production equipment and lift furniture;
- Ability to lift 30 pounds;
- Ability to carry hand held cameras during productions for 30 minutes;
- Ability to climb and descend from ladders and scaffolds;
- Ability to stand for 2-3 hours during productions; and
- Ability to work flexible hours and outdoors as needed.
