Position Summary:This position functions as the Paralegal for Cane Bay Partners VI, LLLP.This position is primarily responsible for providing a wide range of support; preparation and coordination of regulatory filings and reports; corporate recordkeeping and support; contract administration; researching law; investigating facts and preparing legal documents to assist General and Corporate Counsel. This role will have no direct reports. Essential Functions:·Perform legal and factual research·Perform records research·Identify relevant judicial decisions, statutes, legal articles, codes and other pertinent material·Organize and analyze information·Cross-check and validate information·Prepare written reports·Draft legal documents including, agreements, contracts and legal memoranda·Help prepare legal regulatory filings, applications prepare correspondence·Check and edit legal forms and documents for accuracy·Build and maintain databases and files·Organize and track corporate files·Review and monitor new and updated laws and regulations·Open, sort and distribute incoming correspondence to various offices/departments, including faxes·Sort file and retrieve corporate legal and accounting documents and records.·Assists Counsel in audit preparation, assists Accounting Department with department file management and reports, process company insurance reminders. ·Coordinates and prepares responses to customers both internal and external regarding routine inquires and customer responses (as required)·Represents attorney by communicating and obtaining information; following-up on delegated assignments; knowing when to act and when to refer matters to attorney.
Create and maintain all office legal files, records logs and any other information in relation to the work of General or Corporate Counsel and/or Legal department.
Responsible for the contract administration function;
Maintain insurance coverage matrix and administerinsurance applications and renewals
Coordinating and maintaining registrations, licenses and other governmental filings for Cane Bay and its clients;
Coordinating and supporting regulatory audits and reviews.
Salary:
$40,000 plus depending on experience

Experience and Education:
Bachelors Degree Law or Business
5+ Years proven experience
Knowledge of Legal terminology and procedures a plus!
Knowledge of USVI law a plus!

Computer Software/Hardware:Intermediate to Advanced skills using Microsoft office products; Word, Excel & PowerPoint, OutlookPhysical Requirements: Must be able to stand and sit for long periods of time, talking, hearing constantly.Occasionally lift up to 10 lbs. on occasionMust be able to sit in front of computer monitor (s) dailySitting and or standing for long periods of time.Noise level: moderate noise level daily in an office atmosphere.
