Job Description:

One of the Fastest growing doctors' office is looking for a fulltime or part time Certified Coding and Billing Specialist  to support the organization by analyzing the accuracy of medical coding for
services performed by company providers and preparing claims for process and reimbursement by third party payers.

Essential Functions:
• Serves as an auditor to ensure all codes submitted by providers are accurate.
• Ensures that coding meets CMS, NCCI, LMRP, NCD, DSHS, and other third party insurance coding/billing
guidelines.
• Prepares outbound claims through the practice management system. Verifies accuracy of the claims before
submittal and posts charges for non-automated processes.
• Serves as a resource to non-certified coding and billing team members. May audit claims for non-certified team
members to ensure consistant accuracy in submissions.
• Monitors claim submission reports and re-bills rejected claims in a timely manner.
• Reconciles charges against the schedule/appointment list to ensure that no charges are missed or entered late.
• Responds to inquires from staff and providers in a professional and caring manner.
• Supports individual and team development by attending all training and staff meetings.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Revenue Cycle Manager and /or Director of Finance.

Skills Required

Education:
High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required
• Associate's Degree (two year college or technical school) Preferred, Field of Study: Medical Office Administration
Experience: None
Certifications & Licenses:
• Must have and maintain Certified Professional Coder credential
Other Requirements:
• Ability to operate a computer, fax machine, and multi-line phone
• Ability to learn and utilize health management information software
• Previous experience with Microsoft applications - Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.
•Understanding of insurance eligibility and verification processes and knowledge of billing
guidelines preferred.
