Job Description:

This position is for an Instructor for our St. Croix Office, to perform instruction of adults and/or youth students from beginners to intermediate level in computer operations, Windows, MS Office programs, QuickBooks and workforce ethics. Also, perform all general administration duties required for such training. Candidate will also assist in the instruction of Office Management, E-commerce and Entrepreneurial Strategies. Candidate will be responsible to the Operations Manager for daily tasking.Tasks for this position are, yet not limited to:
TASKS:
  • Provide training to adults and/or youth participants in multiple training programs.
  • Process, verify, and maintain documentation relating to program participants’ activities such as staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations, and classifications.
  • Keep records of materials filed or removed, using logbooks or computers.
  • Record data for each participant, including such information as addresses, weekly performance, absences, attendance and compile data as provided for supervisory reports on performance.
  • Evaluate and grade students' class work, laboratory work, assignments, and papers.
  • Maintain student attendance records, grades, and other required records.
  • Keep abreast of developments in the field by reading current literature, talking with colleagues, and participating in professional conferences.
  • Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions.
  • Plan, evaluate, and revise curricula, course content, and course materials and methods of instruction.
  • Supervise students' laboratory work.
  • Prepare course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts.
  • Determine training needs of students or workers.
  • Provide individualized instruction and tutorial or remedial instruction.
  • Conduct on-the-job training classes or training sessions to teach and demonstrate principles, techniques, procedures, or methods of designated subjects.
  • Develop curricula and plan course content and methods of instruction.
  • Answer questions regarding examinations, eligibility, performance, and other pertinent information.
  • Assist in the Interviewing process of participants to obtain and verify information used to screen and evaluate them.
  • Prepare reports, memos, letters and other documents, using word processing, spreadsheet, database, or presentation software.
  • Read and analyze incoming memos and reports to determine their significance and assist the Operations Manager in planning organizing strategic steps to ensure successful performance of participants.
  • Prepare responses to correspondence containing routine inquiries about a specific program or participant.
  • Perform general duties such as maintaining records management systems, and performing basic scheduling.
  • Prepare agendas and make arrangements for meetings and reviews.
  • Provide assistance to staff in duties such as conducting orientation programs, and scheduling events and appointments.
  • Confer with other academic staff to explain and formulate admission requirements and course policies.
  • Assist in directing activities of administrative departments such as admissions, registration, and career services.
  • Sort or classify information according to guidelines such as content, purpose, user criteria, or chronological, alphabetical, or numerical order.
  • Find and retrieve information from files in response to requests from authorized users.
  • Communicate with customers, employees, and other individuals to answer questions, disseminate or explain information and address complaints.
  • Assist all departments with reports, collection of data and additional administrative duties.

Skills Required

KNOWLEDGE:
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. 
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
  • Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods. This includes alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.
  • Knowledge in office oriented software (Microsoft Office)

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Candidate MUST have reliable transportation and valid drivers’ license. 
  • Candidate MUST be knowledgeable with Microsoft Office Programs (2000 / 2003 / 2007)
  • Willing to work closely with youth and / or adults to assist in the monitoring of the participants' training progress.
