To apply, print and complete an application from here: http://www.teachusvi.net/supportapp.htm The Director of Food Services Program is responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating all aspects of the district’s Child Nutrition Program (CNP) in order to meet the educational and nutritional needs of children. This position has great flexibility in developing policies and procedures as well as maintaining a high degree of confidentiality. The employee in this position has considerable flexibility to develop, and implement all policies and procedures in addition to the planning, organizing, supervising, and managing the district operational functions. This appointee is given considerable latitude in applying acquired knowledge and skills for implementation of work under the direct supervision of the Insular Superintendent. This employee will submit monthly reports to the State Director for monitoring purposes. The position is full time and Twelve (12) months) KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES · Knowledge of the principles and practices of purchasing and procurement; · Knowledge of fundamental product information relating to materials, supplies, and equipment used in Virgin Islands Department of Education and local government; · Knowledge of US Post Office mail design and handling practices; · Knowledge of federal and local purchasing laws and procedures; · Knowledge of storekeeping and warehousing methods and practices including inventory control procedures; · Knowledge of principles and practices of organization, administration, budget, and personnel management; · Knowledge of automated purchasing and warehousing information systems; · Proven multitasking and time management capabilities; · Ability to assign, direct, review, and evaluate the work of subordinate staff; · Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; · Ability to analyze, evaluate, and modify purchasing methods and procedures; KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES cont’d · Knowledge of the principles, practices, and methods of office management; · Knowledge of the principles of administration and supervision; · Knowledge of departmental rules and regulations and of established methods of financial record keeping, personnel and procurement procedures; · Ability to plan, layout, and direct the work of employees engaged in a school lunch program at the district level; · Ability to establish operating nutritional standards for school lunch rooms; · Ability to express oneself clearly and concisely, orally and in writing. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE - Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Food Service Management, Dietetics or Business Administration and two (2) or more years of experience in school food service management
