Position summary: This Risk Analyst position is responsible for mining, organizing, and analyzing complex business data, presenting conclusions and making actionable recommendations to Sr. and Executive Leadership. Utilize analytical skills and appropriate analytics and data mining tools to routinely monitor and streamline business processes in a wide range of disciplines in the specialty finance industry including application processing, automated underwriting and decisioning, operations, marketing. Provide recommendations for strategy and process improvement in the daily operations of the business. Essential Functions: - Independently analyzes and interprets data using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation to complex data mining. Documents findings, presents and makes data-driven and analytics-based recommendations to Sr. Management.
- Compiles reports, charts and tables based on established statistical and analytical methods.
- Develops data models to meet the needs of the organizations information systems.
- Oversees project lifecycle of data studies or any other projects related to risk or analytics in the operational areas of the business (fulfillment, servicing, and collections).
- Deliver written project plans to set expectations and gain strategic agreement.
- Conduct and analyze business and information technology processes and prepare essential groundwork specifically related to collections and dialer strategies and call center staffing. Make recommendations for necessary changes on projects that come from other operational departments.
- Coordinate with division managers and product development team to accurately understand business needs and develop actionable solutions.
- Develop and monitor forecasting models; complete monthly/quarterly trend analysis; conduct on-going sensitivity analysis to optimize business recommendations.
- Build and monitor predictive models in marketing and loan acquisition stages of the business and develop strategies to deploy those models

Experience and Education : - Bachelor's Degree; Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Statistics or a similar discipline
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the financial services industry supporting operations and collections department
- Analytics Experience (organizing and mining data – prior use of decision trees, clustering analysis, and basic regression modeling are a plus)
- 1-3 Years Creating Automated Reporting (for an enterprise)
- Proven experience working with large data sets, mining & forecasting
Computer Software/Hardware: Technical Skills: - Data Processing & Statistical Analysis languages: proficiency in SAS and R is required Python is a Plus
- Microsoft Office suite of applications
Physical Requirements : - Must be able to stand and sit for long periods of time, talking, hearing constantly.
- Occasionally lift up to 10 lbs. on occasion
- Must be able to sit in front of computer monitor (s) daily
