Job Summary: The Commercial Business Manager leads and directs the Commercial Lending Unit, Credit Administration, Small Business and Transactional Banking units in the USVI and BVI markets. He/She may also assume management of other lending units, such as Mortgage Origination, as well as responsibility to the management of commercial non-performing assets. He/She supervises and evaluates the unit employees, pursuing maximum performance and compliance with applicable regulations and policies. The Manager is also responsible for recommending or concurring on Commercial Lending transactions and approving transactions within the lending limit granted by the Board of Directors. These Loan Proposals include Term Loans, Commercial Mortgages, Construction Loans and Credit Lines. The position is also responsible for the management of the NPLs and classified names. Essential Responsibilities: · Oversees the Commercial Lending unit as well as supervises and evaluates the unit employees pursuing the maximum performance and the compliance of applicable regulations and policies. · Approves terms and conditions modifications of approved loans within the established lending limit. · Monitors and maintains compliance with Company’s policies and practices, and regulatory requirements. · Contributes to the sound structure of the credit facilities and related documentation. · Participates and contributes in credit evaluation and decision making. · Contributes to the improvement of risk assessment, monitoring and control. · Review loan proposals and provide independent opinion on the inherent risks of transactions. · Reduction of delinquency · Ensures timely the preparation of and conduct of 360s and annual reviews · Oversees Transactional Banking Credit Administration, Small Business for the region (USVI and BVI) Other Responsibilities: · Participates in all strategic planning efforts, including development of annual budgets for all assigned lines of business · Assists top management with development and implementation of special projects. Independence of Judgment: The degree of judgment for this job is strong and is related to integration and coordination of varied elements and its application to specific subjects and the creation, development and eventual implementation of policies, strategies and work methods upon appropriate approvals; also is related to recommendation of actions or decisions on subjects that may impact essential functions of the Bank. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has direct supervisory responsibilities over the Commercial Lending Unit, Credit Administration, Small Business, and Transactional Banking. Impact of Errors: The impact of errors of this position could affect essential activities of administrative, operational or business nature that have a considerable economic impact for the Bank and are important to the Bank, its image and strategic results; errors may impact the stability and continuity of the vital operations of the Bank.
