Job Description:
Barry University Physician Assistant Program is currently looking for someone who will serve as the main person responsible for the organization and coordination of efforts to ensure proper functioning, maintenance, operation upkeep of all building structures, electrical, mechanical, security, and emergency systems in the St. Croix campus. Communicate regularly with facilities and planning at the main campus, and coordinate efforts with outside contractors as necessary. Maintains contact with directors, administrators, supervisors, architects, engineers, and other staff personnel to facilitate the timely accomplishment of all projects and assignments.

Oversees and coordinates the administration of contracted services by: - Administering and managing contracts for custodial services, security systems, water waste, trash removal, pest control, etc.
- Vetting of outside contracted services when services are being bided for/out.
- Ensuring that services are performed as contracted.
Planning: - Reviews work requests and associated project information.
- Develops scope of work documents for maintenance, construction, deferred maintenance, and repair projects.
- Develops repair/maintains logs.
- Periodically assess the capacity and condition of building.
Automotive: - Responsible for the general upkeep of the University vehicle, including oil changes, fueling, tire rotation, repair of minor damages.
- Transportation of supplies and orders, including pick up, clearing customs, and delivery.
- Transportation of visitors to/from the airport.
Scheduling: - Coordinating various contractors if more than one is required for a project, and report to Director, Facilities and Planning in Miami for further instructions.
- Prepares or directors the preparation of material, equipment, and subcontractor time and cost estimates for a wide variety of facility type projects.
- Prepares or directs the preparation of project schedules for the various jobs.
- Develops and keeps a current master schedule of all construction, renovation and repair projects.
Project Management: - Schedules and completes work orders.
- Monitors contractor performance to ensure that the contractor meets all job requirements.
- Prepares progress reports on the physical and financial status of the projects and maintains equipment and service records.
Collaborates with Facilities and planning to manage large projects. Core Duties: - Performs routine building maintenance work orders and other projects, including assisting with preventative maintenance schedules, service calls, and first responder to emergency calls.
- Reads, understands, and interprets blueprints, drawings, floor plans, and schedules as they relate to electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC equipment, and building structures and finishes.
- Maintenance of HVAC and other equipment.
- Initiates requests for materials and supplies.
- Preforms recycling and trash removal duties as needed.
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, territorial, and local laws, rules, and regulations in the purchase, use, and containment of hazardous materials.
- Replaces washers, faucets and seals on malfunctioning plumbing equipment.
- Changes light bulbs, tests emergency equipment.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Facilities and Planning
