Job Description:

Summary:

Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, perform general repair and maintenance duties on

structures, facilities and equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • ·        Perform preventive maintenance according to established schedules.
  • Perform various maintenance duties in assistance to skilled maintenance personnel in projects involving specialized trades.
  • Maintain swimming pools, pool equipment and related area; conduct chemical tests of water; apply and adjust chemicals as necessary.
  • Repair doors and windows; make simple installation of hardware; install shelving and bulletin boards; repair desk, chairs, and other furniture and equipment.
  • Perform routine plumbing duties such as removing and replacing faucets, fixtures, washers and gaskets.
  • Install electrical wall and floor outlets and switches as needed.
  • Assist in the repair of heating and ventilation systems and electrical systems as required.
  • Carries out basic preventive maintenance to air conditioning systems
  • Perform maintenance painting as needed; patch and prepare surfaces for painting; paint cabinets and shelving.
  • Respond to emergency request to perform routine repairs and adjustments to buildings and facilities.
  • Perform rough carpentry and concrete work as required; erect and dismantle scaffolding.
  • Operate a forklift and a variety of equipment, machines and tools utilized in general maintenance and repair work.
  • Maintain routine records and logs related to maintenance and repair activities.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.


Skills Required

Qualifications:

The job specification should not be construed to imply that these requirements are the exclusive standards of the position. Incumbents will follow any other instructions, and perform and other related duties, as may be required by their supervisor.

Education/Experience:

Vocational school diploma; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certification in specialization such as HVAC and plumbing, electrical, mechanical or woodwork is preferred

Valid driver’s license required.
