What does This Paralegal Position Entail?
This Paralegal is primarily responsible for providing a wide range of support; preparation and coordination of regulatory filings and reports; corporate recordkeeping and support; contract administration; researching law; investigating facts and preparing legal documents to assist General and Corporate Counsel. This position will report to General and Corporate Counsel.

 

 

 

 

As a Paralegal, a Typical Day Might Include:

·         Performing legal and factual research.

·         Performing records research.

·         Identifying relevant judicial decisions, statutes, legal articles, codes and other pertinent material.

·         Organizing and analyzing information.

·         Cross-checking and validating information.

·         Preparing written reports.

·         Drafting legal documents including agreements, contracts and legal memoranda.

·         Helping prepare legal regulatory filings and applications and prepare correspondence.

·         Checking and edit legal forms and documents for accuracy.

·         Building and maintain databases and files.

·         Organizing and track corporate files.

·         Reviewing and monitor new and updated laws and regulations.

·         Open, sort and distribution of incoming correspondence to various offices/departments.

·         Sort, file and retrieve corporate legal and accounting documents and records.

·         Assisting Counsel in audit preparation, assists Accounting Department with department file management and reports, process company insurance reminders.

·         Coordination and preparation of both internal and external responses to customers regarding routine inquires and responses (as required).

·         Represent attorney by communicating and obtaining information; following-up on delegated assignments; and referring matters when appropriate.

·         Creation and maintenance of all office legal files, records logs and any other information in relation to the work of General or Corporate Counsel and/or Legal department.

·         Responsible for the contract administration.

·         Maintaining insurance coverage matrix and administer insurance applications and renewals.

·         Coordinating and maintain registrations, licenses and other governmental filings.

·         Supporting General and Corporate Counsel with regulatory audits and reviews.

·         Assisting with company compliance.

·         Preparing corporate resolutions, documents pertaining to finance, trademarks, and other similar issues.

 

·         Logging board minutes, and other similar corporate items.

·         Organization - Manage time and projects, including corporate books and contracts, effectively.

·         Corporate Knowledge - Working knowledge of corporate structure.

·         Word Processing - Ability to manipulate and use effectively, Microsoft Office Products.

·         Client Interviews - Ability to conduct limited client interviews and obtain desired information.

Must Haves:

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Law or Business

·         5+ Years proven experience

·         Knowledge of Legal terminology and procedures a plus!

·         Knowledge of USVI law a plus!

·         Meticulous attention to detail

·         Advanced skills using Microsoft office products: Word, Excel & PowerPoint, Outlook.

 

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand and sit for long periods of time. Occasionally lift up to 10 lbs. Must be able to sit in front of computer monitor(s) for long periods of time. Noise level: moderate noise level daily in an office atmosphere
