Job Description:

We are currently seeking an experienced and highly-skilled rigger to join our hardworking team. In this role, you will demonstrate your experience and expertise alongside others who take the profession seriously and are committed to a safe work environment. You will ensure that all loads and equipment are lifted and set properly, demonstrating consistent commitment to safety at all times. You will work as part of the team, ensuring our operation runs smoothly and on schedule


Skills Required

Requirements

Ensure that all machinery is set, aligned, and leveled

Attach and detach loads properly

Communicate with all team members effectively

Ensure that you are in compliance with all safety rules and regulations

Monitor and maintain all rigging equipment to ensure safety

Report all safety concerns/issues to management immediately

Safely and properly attach and utilize all pulley and block systems

Set up and break down necessary equipment

Fabricate job-specific systems as needed

Properly select gear for the job

Maintain control of all loads at all times

Maneuver loads through difficult and confined spaces

Work cooperatively with erection team to meet requirements

Familiar with all necessary safety equipment

Able to assess each load and select proper equipment for the job

Solid working knowledge of all rigging equipment

Able to inspect rigging equipment to ensure it is in good working order

Experienced with crane assembly and disassembly

Solid math skills for calculating load requirements

Physically capable of working in demanding conditions

Able to sit, stand, bend, work on your feet and lift 50 lbs on a regular basis

Excellent vision and hearing

Not afraid of heights or climbing ladders, scaffolding, etc.

Other Skills and Abilities

•Must be able to legally work in the United States.

•Must be willing to work in a drug-free environment and agree to a post offer drug test.

•Must be willing to work safely and keep OSHA recordable incidents to a minimum.

•Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively plan and organize to meet project deadlines.

Supervisory Responsibilities                     

Directly responsible for crane oiler and indirectly assists team leader and signal persons.

Education and/or Experience

·         High school diploma or equivalent

·         Must be NCCCO certified Level 1, minimum

·         Significant work experience as a rigger, 2+ years minimum

·         Must be up to date, and willing to comply with all OSHA safety standards

·         Must pass drug test, fit-for duty test and background check 

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Good English communication skills and Bilingual a plus

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Current driver's license

Must be NCCCO certified Level 1 minimum
