Altisource Asset Management Corporation (“AAMC”) will be a new public company that will provide asset management and corporate governance services to, among others, Altisource Residential Corporation (“Residential”), a soon-to-be public REIT that plans to become one of the largest national renters of single-family homes by purchasing sub-performing and non-performing loans (“NPLs”) and REO Properties and converting them to single-family rental assets. The ongoing weakness in the housing market provides an opportunity for Residential, utilizing the services of AAMC, to purchase NPLs and REO Properties at a significant discount to the underlying value.
